Marty works professionally as a Film Studies faculty member at American International College in Springfield, MA and as a freelance writer/producer/director in the corporate, commercial and independent film world.
He has produced programs pro bono for friends with disabilities, for little money with local school systems and for six figure budgets with Fortune 500 companies. Marty has been involved in every facet of professional video and film production during his last 20 years. And for his first 23 years, he immersed myself in all forms of visual storytelling. In fact, he maintains that all communication is a form of storytelling, and the effectiveness of the message is dependent on the story being told.
Marty graduated from Boston University’s film school with a concentration in Screenwriting, and has written and produced dozens of short films and authored several feature length screenplays (two of which have been produced). He has taught and lectured at several New England colleges and universities, and is currently writing a book on low-budget filmmaking.
Incidentally, he owns eight different VHS and DVD copies of Roger Corman’s THE FANTASTIC FOUR.
Mark Sikes began his casting career in 1992 for Academy Award-winning filmmaker Roger Corman. In the past 20 years he has cast over 100 films and several television series, commercials and web series. He has cast projects for top directors such as Tobe Hooper, Mark Jones and Luke Greenfield as well as many others.
Over the years Mark has worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood including Dennis Hopper, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Michael Madsen, Ron Perlman and Roy Scheider. Mark has consistently assembled casts that delivered the necessary name value to make his projects commercially successful no matter what the budget. He has extensive background in family films, horror, action, science-fiction, comedy and drama.
Based in Los Angeles, Mark has cast films for many markets including the United Kingdom, Peru, the Philippines and Russia. Domestically he has cast films that shot all over the country in Ohio, Massachusetts, Virginia and multiple projects in Colorado. One of his latest projects, the romantic comedy “Is it just me?” was selected by over 40 film festivals worldwide and won numerous awards.
Mark is originally from Springfield, Massachusetts where he ran several high school drama programs as well as founding a summer theatre program for teens in Western Massachusetts. He currently teaches three weekly on-camera, audition technique classes in Culver City.
